Sneak Peek Friday - Agnus Dei

Here is what I have been working on this week...
inspired by my liturgical roots and a picture I saw several years ago...

My heart returns to the rhythms of the church year during Lent (and Advent!)
Sometimes I miss the marking of theological time that way,
but then again,
I can include those patterns, those rhythms, at home..
where this life I live in the body is lived,
where Christ is living in me and,
prayerfully,
through me...

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.  Galatians 2:20

Looking forward to seeing what all my friends at Studio JRU
are creating and contemplating during this Holy Week
and this particular Good Friday...

I love lambs and sheep in any type of art and your creation today is beautiful, Cindy. I am going to my church's Good Friday service this evening. It promises to be powerful and somber. You know, you could still attend some of those special services without belonging to a specific church :)

Agnus Dei... such a beautiful painting.
When I still lived in Germany, Good Friday was a holiday. Around three in the afternoon many churches had little concerts, often performing a Requiem. I miss that.

Here in the Philippines, we have many liturgical services. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are holidays and many troop to the church for services and processions. One day we will all be united as the bride of Christ. Until that day comes, may we all be united by the blood of the Lamb of God who died for all. Thank you for sharing your painting. It is beautiful and innocent. Just as Jesus was. Patsy from

The lamb is such an important symbol in my homechurch of Norway. Here I have not heard word of it in the church I attend here.
I love the Galathians and the colors you chose are wonderfull.

I can relate to your heart turning to the rhythms of the advent and lenten seasons...a season of meditating on what is important.

And I love this beautiful painting as well.
