Sneak Peak Friday - My DIY vintage style blocks

I have been having a little more time to make art this week...here are my version of the Dayspring blocks...I decided I really liked doing it myself because I was able to personalize them!  I found at the end, that I didn't have enough blocks for all the letters I needed, so I raided the wooden blocks we still had around from preschool days, and painted the letters over in the same colors I had painted the art blocks...and in honor of Studio JRU who hosts us every Friday...here is the first picture (by my free print by Jennifer as well!)

Another option:
And working on the next eternal word art: HOPE.  Here is a part of the background, I am ready to add the word and scripture...

The white is being yellowed out by the lighting in the studio again...one of these days I will get the lightbulbs changed to the flourescent "daylight" bulbs...

Awe...great job....and so nice for Jennifer too! =) Hope you weren't saving those blocks for future generations...they might learn the alphabet wrong. =)

Your blocks are adorable and so well made! I love your clever addition of preschool blocks. Way to both problem-solve and upcycle! ; )

Fun blocks, Cindy! And I love the colors on your new painting. Turquoise and red/magenta are one of my favorite combinations :)

I'm such a fan of anything with type on it and especially when you can play with their arrangement! Love the start of the background as well. It feels good to be back in town and back to my studio and being creative. Summer time is so hard with vacations and business traveling. Hope you have a wonderful week. Fondly, Roberta
