This week has been all about children and creativity and lots of fun...
I learned a lot about making a video tutorial and operating the movie maker software on
this wonderful computer my guy gave me a while back...
Shaving cream and liquid food coloring
art paper tutorial with Miss A...
Tuesday we made crosses at a homeschool function.
The children were really focused, letting the Holy Spirit speak to them...
I loved the combination of the natural elements and the scrap fibers..
Thursday was her B.I.G. 10 birthday!!!
I can't believe it!
She says she is "0-teen"!
We went to Don Pablo's for her birthday supper -
she had a chocolate volcano AND sopapillas for dessert!
She wanted to go hang out with a group of older ladies and learn smocking yesterday...
so we had "Learning Heritage Sewing Arts" for school time (smiles)...
They absolutely loved having a young one...they are all amazed at her heart for hand work...
(You know that means that I am learning to smock...right?)
My project |
Next week will be focused again on painting "eternal words..."
till then -

I didn't realize you had a 10 year old too!!! I might have, but forgot. =) What a great idea with the crosses...and smocking...I've never done it. She did a great job. =)
I have never done smocking, but I have a few dresses for my girls with hand smocking and I really admire it!
0-teen...SO cute! :D I loved seeing all the FUN things you have been doing this week!
What a great video Cindy... great job! She is so creative and looks like she was having so much fun! Happy Birthday to the sweet "O-teen"!
Looks like so many awesome creative projects! I've heard about making paper and would love to try it sometime!
The crosses are so beautiful. Your daughter is precious that she wants to "hang out with the old ladies" and learn smocking - what a wonderful child!
You certainly were busy this week...love that your are encouraging the creativity at home with your daughter - Fantastic!
What a great idea with the crosses...so easy and fun for kids...and a good Easter craft. Was trying to think of something different to do with older kids instead of egg art, this would have been good. Will keep it in mind for next year.
I'm not a crafty person - and so you know I didn't come from the link - just came by to read your wordds. And again I'm struck by the love of a mom who cares. Your homeschooling - I am just in awe of homeschooling moms - how hard you work - how creative the crosses were awesome - and smocking - well - whatever it is I'm sure it will be too. God Bless and keep you and all of yours. I really hearted this post Cindy. Thank you.
The crosses are magnificent, meencantan those designs. Greetings
PD:
I do not use photoshop, or any other editing software. I'm not against those who use it because the important thing is creativity. I do not use it because I like it and because I am an inept and lacking in patience to learn. As my photos are mostly studio and I have the ability to manage all the variables, can not find it necessary to repeat the picture is to my liking. What matters is the final result, and each one has to find his way and his personal style.
those crosses are beautiful. I love so much how FEARLESS children are with color. Coming over from Studio JRU
super kool video ... & I love kids making crosses
Very beautiful and creative crosses. Your smocking looks great, too. Nice quality time with your kids.
Ahhh...such a sweet age when they are so full of inspiration and still impressed by their parents...lol The smocking looks like a fun project. Sounds like you had such a wonderful week in your studio and with your family. Hope you have a great upcoming week as well...fondly, Roberta
Thanks for your comments on my post. I love that part about the beautiful garland too. Much appreciated. :)
