We've been having technical issues over here, and I just haven't made it to town to take advantage of the internet connection at Starbucks...but here is a little something I could sneak in today...
Working with turning a photo into a sketchy work...and including a pop of color...
oranges are always so abundant during this time of year, their brightness flamboyantly announcing that spring is most definitely on its way...
the bowl is a beautiful bowl, the last piece of my maternal grandmother's wedding china, too pretty to put away, and special enough to be given a place of importance!
Processing:
Ran an action to draw a color sketch from the photo
Made 2 copies of the sketch layer and set both to "multiply"
Over that I placed two copies of the original photo set to "overlay"
1 more background copy at "soft light" masking all but the oranges themselves.
2 layers of Kim Klassen's "sun-kissed" texture, 1 set to "screen" and one set to "overlay"
1 layer of Kim Klassen's "canvas magic" set to "color burn" and same mask as before.
the text layer...
Hope this has you looking forward to the new life of spring!
